2025 Kitchen Trends to Watch

Trends

As we look ahead to 2025 Kitchen Trends to watch, the kitchen and bath design landscape continues to evolve, embracing styles that blend nature-inspired elements, minimalist warmth, and a touch of timeless luxury.

Earthy Rich Tones: Deep blues, terracotta, and soft orange hues bring warmth and personality to cabinets and kitchen accents, which are easy to fall in love with.

Soft and Deep Neutrals: Beige and off-white tones ground spaces, offering a natural, calming aesthetic. Mid to deep browns are also expected to trend as a luxury color, heavily influenced by the 2025 Pantone Color of the year, Mocha Mousse 17-1230.

Greens Take the Lead: Subtle sage and bold forest greens are now more popular than classic blues for cabinetry and islands.

Cherry Red Accents: Expect to see cherry and burgundy tones on focal points like bars, built-ins, or accent shelves.

Hidden Zones: Discreet storage solutions, like pocket doors, appliance garages, and secret prep kitchens, keep the space organized and streamlined.

Integrated Appliances: Panel-ready refrigerators, dishwashers, and built-in coffee systems disappear seamlessly into cabinetry for a polished look.

Matching Range Hoods: Range hood surrounds made of cabinetry that match or contrast, adding a clean, cohesive touch to modern kitchens. Just look at any Pinterest board, and it is evident why these are on the 2025 Kitchen Trends to watch.

Cabinet Lighting: Integrated LED lighting, often wireless, adds functionality and ambiance to cabinets, drawers, toe kicks, and beneath floating shelves and open shelving.

Wider Cooktops: Ranges up to 48” cater to busy households and cooking enthusiasts alike.

Full Slab Backsplashes:  Are tiled backsplashes out? Matching full slab backsplashes made of countertop materials give kitchens a bold look, not to mention an easy-to-clean surface that isn’t fussy. Always consult a professional to ensure your design can accommodate this and avoid a material that will scorch or burn.

Matte Finishes: Matte cabinetry paints, finishes, materials, and countertops offer a soft, modern appeal without the glare. The love for matte finishes is evident, especially the ultra-smooth PVC super-matte finishes.

Could ultra-smooth super-matte PVC finishes be the top kitchen trend in 2025?

Laminate Cabinets: Advanced laminate technology creates durable, realistic wood-look finishes—a smart, budget-friendly wood alternative. Also, the slim shaker design door in laminate is expected to trend upward in 2025.

Natural Wood Resurgence: Light stains on oak and rift-cut oak continue to dominate in 2023 and continue to do so in 2025. However, stains are getting a touch darker towards the medium tones, bringing warmth and texture to kitchens. The big question is, will wood take over white kitchens in 2025?

Reeded and Slat Details: Applied textured cabinetry back panels, wall panels, and backs and sides of islands add depth and interest without overpowering the design. Trendspotters have also noticed an uptake in fluted details on farmhouse sinks, glass inserts, standalone furniture, and most notably in linear fluting on ultra-compact surfaces.

Two-Tone Kitchens: Blending painted finishes with natural wood creates a balanced and layered look. Popular combinations include soft neutrals paired with warm wood tones or bold accents.

Dark Accents: Black and navy blue are being used to highlight specific areas, like islands, hoods, and built-ins, for a bold, dramatic contrast.

Curated Open Shelving: Replacing upper cabinets with open shelves provides an opportunity to display decor while maintaining an airy feel.
