Introducing Wire Brushed Cabinets

Around Superior Trends

We launched our original Fusion Finishes Collection in 2010 to fill a market gap that demanded lower cost cabinet options for the home, as some clients weren’t satisfied with Thermofoil, Laminate or Melamine cabinets.

Since then, this award-winning line of Painted and Handcrafted finishes on MDF in Canada and the USA has seen rapid growth in popularity. As the demand for lower cost, textured and distressed cabinetry finishes steadily increases, our product innovation team took it upon themselves to try to solve this challenge once again. The challenge was to create something authentically textured that is fashionable and far more affordable than expensive textured wood options.

The Fusion Evolution Collection is the next chapter in our innovation storybook. This is a brand new collection of textured finishes on MDF. They are available in the Vancouver Slab/Flat Panel door design for the ultimate textured look. Fusion Evolution is available in over 30 solid painted cabinetry finishes.

Let’s face it, if you want to incorporate a distressed texture in your home, you only have a few options. Until recently, you could really only choose between a textured flooring material or a textured piece of furniture. In cabinetry, you can choose from wood alternative cabinetry finishes such as textured Thermofoil, Melamine and Laminates or textured wood cabinets, which are very expensive. From a budget perspective, this makes that high-end textured look seem unobtainable to many homeowners today.

There is also some market pressure in the cabinet industry and that is the demand for more authentic alternatives to textured or distressed looking Laminate, Melamine, and Thermofoil cabinets. That being said, our product innovation team decided to solve this little problem and developed something different – something that raised the bar in cabinetry.

With the popularity of painted MDF cabinets growing at a very fast rate in the United States due to consistent challenges with painting wood cabinets, it was a no-brainer for the team to further evolve our already established award-winning Fusion Finishes line on MDF.

Comprehensive testing was done with various texturing techniques on MDF to achieve the preferred depth that we knew our customers would love. Samples were then painted and sent away for Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) testing. This is a comprehensive four step testing process that all of our cabinet finishes go through to ensure our products meet regular household needs and usage scenarios to ensure our kitchens last for many years. Now that the testing is completed and accepted, the Fusion Evolution Collection is ready for your home.

If you crave an authentically textured and distressed look, you will love the Fusion Evolution Collection. Unlike wood alternative cabinets like Thermofoil, Melamine, and Laminates that have more of a superficial texturing, the textured grooves are actually carved into the door and drawer fronts. This gives the cabinets a super-rich and high-quality textured look.

Another great advantage is that, unlike other wood alternative cabinets, the Fusion Evolution cabinet door and drawer fronts are painted on the back. Previously mentioned wood alternative cabinets all have white melamine interiors. The results are a very high-end, uniform look which rivals premium European cabinet lines that can be three to four times the price.

As the demand for rich textured finishes in the home increases, this collection now allows you to bring it into your kitchen, or any place in your home, with cabinetry. Stay tuned for further developments of this new line.
